Antenatal and Postnatal Care
Every Thursday from 1:30 pm, the Community Midwives are here to help you and one of the doctors is available for advice.
Please make an appointment to be seen.
Pregnant Women
- If you are pregnant it is important that you still attend your antenatal appointments and continue to seek advice from your midwife of maternity team.
- If you are worried about your health or the health of your unborn baby, please contact your midwife or maternity team.

Child Health Immunisations & Baby Clinic
BY APPOINTMENT ONLY Fridays 9.00 am to 11.00 am the Practice Nurse and Doctor are here for baby's developmental check, weighing, immunisations, and general advice on bringing up baby.
Please do not bring a sick child to this clinic – please make an ordinary appointment.
Smear Tests
Smear tests are arranged for women aged 25 to 64. These health checks are every 3 to 5 years.
You can be seen by the Practice Nurse or any of the doctors.
Please tell the Receptionist that you need a smear when you make the appointment.
Travel Abroad
For travel advice & vaccinations, please book with the practice nurse at least 6 weeks before travel. We are able to offer up-to-date information and travel leaflets.

Asthma, Cardiac, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Diabetic, Peripheral Vascular Disease (PVD), Spirometry, and Weight Reduction Clinics
If you suffer from these complaints/conditions then you may be asked to attend for regular check-ups.
Health Checks
Any patient between the ages of 16-74 who has not attended a consultation/clinic in the last three years can request a consultation for a health check.
Minor Surgical Procedures
We provide advice and perform some minor surgery such as joint injections.
Please ask Reception for more advice.
Well Person Checks
The practice provides basic checks on new patients and the over 75s.
Please make an appointment with the Practice Nurse.
Private Medical Examinations
We have special arrangements for HGV, PSV, Fitness to Drive, Insurance, and Employment medicals. Ask at reception. A list of current private charges for these examinations as recommended by the British Medical Association is available for you to see at Reception.
Minds Matters
This is a Self-Referral Service for patients who need support for stress, anxiety, low mood and sleep difficulties. Go to www.lancashirecare.nhs.uk/Mindsmatter for an on-line referral form. Telephone the team on 01772 773437 Mon-Fri 9am to 50m.
Smoking Cessation Advisor
This is to support patients who have decided to stop smoking. Patients are referred to this service by the GPS. This is available at the Practice every Wednesday afternoon from 1pm starting 20.7.2016.
