Community Midwives

Community Midwives are attached to the Practice and attend on Thursday afternoons in the Antenatal Clinic.

They give advice on pregnancy, childbirth, and contraception.

The Community Midwives can discuss relaxation and parentcraft classes as well as visit in the early days after delivery.

Community Nurses

The District Nurses provide a domiciliary service when nursing care and advice is needed in the home. This is usually arranged through your doctor, but you can contact the nurse at the Health Centre directly. They are employed by Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust.

The District Nurse Zonal Team Co-ordinator is Debbie Dawson.

The Community District Nurses are Sandra Carr, Deborah I'Anson, Trudy Collins, Jennie Hummer, Laura Cole, Lisa Higham, Linda Buchanan and Sue Gregson. Their telephone number is 01772 777303/4.

Health Visitors

The Health Visitor can give advice on most aspects of health care particularly for expectant mothers, babies, and children.

They do home visits for newborn babies.

With effect from 20 March 2015 the Health Visitor will no longer attend the Practice Baby clinic every Friday morning.

They can be contacted weekdays 9.00 am to 10.00 am and 4.00 pm to 4.30 pm.

They are employed by Virgin Care Limited and are based at a central hub. There telephone number is 0300 247 0040.
